DEHP, a plasticizer commonly used to make PVC tubing and other medical devices used in the NICU, is known to have an adverse effect on the development of the male reproductive system.

Both the FDA and The NTP (National Toxicology Program) have expressed concerns about the exposure of critically ill infants to DEHP.  Neonates receiving exchange transfusions or undergoing multiple medical procedures are at the highest risk for exposure.

Charter Medical's Neonatal Syringe set is DEHP Free and features a 150 micron filter with either a 30cc , 60 cc BD™ syringe, or  syringe adapter.
